1. Official DPS Road Tests & Testing Requirements
Yes, Next Driving School is a DPS-authorized third-party skills testing provider. You can take your official road test directly at our facility in Irving, TX.
Appointments and same-day walk-in slots are available based on daily availability. You can call our office directly to check the earliest open slot.
Urgent road tests are priority scheduling slots designed for drivers who need immediate certification or testing before a tight deadline.
You can use your own vehicle if it meets state safety compliance, or you can rent a state-compliant dual-control vehicle directly from our school.
If you do not pass on your first attempt, you can schedule a retake or a second-attempt test slot on a subsequent day following DPS guidelines.
The pre-test and mock test package includes professional evaluation of driving maneuvers, parallel parking guidance, and practice on actual testing routes.
Examiners evaluate basic vehicle control, parallel parking, right and left turns, backing up, observation, signaling, and overall adherence to traffic laws.
